Clubs at Hunter
At Hunter we currently offer before and after school clubs for our students. The before school movement clubs run from 8:30-9:00 am and students are dismissed directly to class. We hope you will join us for some movement and fun. Our chess club meets every Wednesday afternoon from 3:45 to 4:45 pm.
Morning Football & Basketball Club
Team Sports Club for 4th and 5th graders will begin on Tuesday, September 12th and run from 8:30 am - 9:00 am on Tuesdays (flag football) and Thursdays (basketball). Students who sign up can attend one or both sports/days each week by signing up here. Registration is required.
Chess Club
The Hunter Chess Club is excited for another year of fun, learning, and playing lots of chess! We expect that chess club meetings will resume for the year in late September or early October 2023.
The chess club primarily offers opportunities to play chess with other Hunter students at roughly matched skill levels. Additionally, the chess club provides instruction for new and experienced players, with a separate space for lessons for Kindergarten and first grade students. Please also consider Hunter's beginning chess elective course, which is a fantastic opportunity to learn chess during the school day! Chess club meetings are Wednesday afternoons after dismissal until 4:45pm. Parent volunteers able to assist with supervising the meetings are highly sought after and much appreciated!
Morning Running/
Walking Club
Sign up here if you are interested in participating in this year’s morning run/walk club. The club will start on Monday, September 11th, and run from 8:30-9:00 on Monday and Friday mornings. All students K-5 are welcome to participate. You must have completed the google form in order for your student to participate.
